Recent Trip to NI
« on: February 21, 2008, 02:00:28 AM »
So we had a great trip from Canada to NI a couple of months ago for my nephew's wedding, great places we visited were:

Daft Eddy's

Portaferry Arms

Londonderry Arms

White's Tavern

Crawfordsburn Inn

And a blast from the past: The Causeway Hotel! It didn't seem to have changed a bit since I was there as a kid! Gordon Ramsey would hit the roof!

Anyway, question is, what are good central Belfast pub grub type places? Whites was good but the other ones we went to weren't. we'll be back this summer.

Hi Harry

Some pubs that do good food

Robinsons and the Crown Bar in Great Victoria Street (opposite Europa Hotel)

Cafe Vaudeville - Arthur Street (opposite City Hall)

The Northern Whig, The Cloth Ear, The John Hewitt, Mynt - all in Cathedral Quarter

The Queens Bar - Queen's Arcade, off Donegall Place

Benedicts in Shaftsbury Square (past Robinsons and The Crown, keep walking and you'll see it) - superb grub

Does my face look bothered?

I was back in Belfast in June 07, had some great food.
For pub grub try The Morningstar on Pottingers Entry off Ann street, they have a small Buffet and you can also order from the menu.
The King Head across for the Kings Hall.
Nick' Warehouse  in Hill Street,a bit up-market but very good food. Wine & service
I have a few others but I will need to go back to to my notes to check the names.
You will never know where you are going.
If you do not remember where you come from.

The Kitchen Bar in Victoria Street offers Real Ale, Real Food and Real Friendliness.
As far as I'm aware Forum member mreid is the manageress there. Meals are also available at Pat's Bar in Princes Dock Street.
