Entertainers in the 70s

Does anyone remember a singer called Mark Mitchell. What ever happened to him. He used to play in the Green Briar on the Glen Road. I think he used to live in Springfield Park.

Hi all I'm new to this site I used to see Mark Mitchell, Tony Morelli and the Professionals in the Green Briar, That was as close to the showband era I got to, I had some great nights up in that place, My brother Jim used to play with the Newmen Showband n the Astor in Belfast. Catch you all later. GerryMac

The Green Briar was built in the early 70's originally for target golf, 50 pence for a bucket of balls, the club house was used on a Sunday night and The Wolfhound played the the best folk band ever, then about 1974 the built the big dance hall everyone knows, Tony Morrilli and the Witnesses, Mark Mitchell and the Professionals, Shay Young to name but a few, Many a great night the was listening to them, I lived in Lenadoon so it was a very handy place to me, I don't think there has ever been a place so successful as the Green Briar.

Hello ItalianIrish, I'm drifting off topic here but your user name prompted me to ask if you have seen the movie 'Brooklyn', it is about an Irish girl who marries into an Italian family with some top acting by Saoirse Ronan.
