Rootsireland has no record of either James Leslie Leathem or Norah Robb. Two births which may be of interest;
Margaret Teresa Leathem, 19 Francis St., Belfast, born 22 February 1930 to Thomas Leathem and Margaret Valley.
Mary Teresa Leathem, same address, born 21 June 1928 to Thomas James Leathem and Jane Vallely. This Mary Teresa married William Clarke 21/12/1950.
I suspect that there is an error somewhere in the two births transcribed from the original copies.
I suggest you contact GRO, Convent  Rd., Roscommon, F42 VX53. Phone, 090 663 7507. Email gro?groireland.ie

On the Rootsireland site the Deputy Registrar has added a note that the unnamed Rowley female was illegitimate

The Sarah Rowley born 1880 does  not appear to be correct. When she married William Benson 1898 Sarah gave her age as 22, so born about 1876. In the 1901 census she was recorded as 23, which suggests a birth year of 1878.

     If the births were in Northern Ireland and after 1.1.1922 youíll likely need to contact GRONI in Belfast.  The birth records within the past 100 years are accessible, just not on-line, unless you go in person to GRONI or PRONI, both in Belfast. If you canít get there in person, the contact details for ringing or e-mailing GRONI are here:

Thank you for this . I believe she was born in 1928 calculating from both her marriage and death certificates and then census and childrenís birth registers . She lived at Bond St according to her marriage cert. and fathers name was given as David Rowley a Breadserver . This however may not really be the case ! Anyway thanks for your help and I will follow these leads ! Hilary .

Hilary, I haven't been on the forum for a while BUT I believe GRONI won't show birth records online until they are 100 years old.

I'm not sure if they'll let you do a search over at their office on Malone Road.  :-\

     There are no restrictions on searching at GRONIís offices. You can view events registered yesterday, if you wish. The same goes for the 4 GRONI terminals in PRONI. But those are the only 2 locations anywhere that you can search the more recent records. If you canít get to GRONI or PRONI, you need to contact them (by phone or e-mail) and ask for a search.

Thank you Elwyn - that's good to know. I didn't even know PRONI had (GRONI) terminals - do you know if you need to book beforehand?  :)
