92nd BB

Hi to Jim Rainey, I noticed your posting about the 92nd BB. I see you remembered myself, Alan McCullough and Billy Gilmore. I rember Walter Poole but I can't remember his brother Derek. Do you remember Dessie Hawthorne, he lives in Carrickfergus as I do and you would rember Jim Kyle the BB Captain. I remember he borrowed a PA system from work to use at the display, it sounded terrible as the microphone was a telephone earpiece. The amplifier didn't have a mains plug so Jim pushed the wires into the socket with match sticks. I got involved with the 3rd Carrickfergus company displays when I made a mixer and amplifier. I still am involved with sound in my church First Presbyterian Carrickfergus, though it is just making copies of services onto CDs.
