my mclaughlin family Belfast
« on: September 22, 2020, 06:11:30 AM »
For over 40 years have researched my mothers family Mc Laughlin. Mc Laughlin - Quinn & Mc Laughlin -Mclarnon
They resided  around Smithfield ,Lettuce Hill ,Carrick Hill ,Barrack St , Hamill St, John St, Kildare St .Most lived beside each other in Barrack St & Hamill St and intermarried where sponsors and witness to marriages  etc. Mc Laughlins occupation was listed as carters. I live in Australia but as a youngster recall my granny McLaughlin and mother going to visit all these people. Sadly the last oldest family member that kept me up to date on family my 85 year old sister in Belfast passed away in January 2020..Sorry for taking up much on your site but believe relatives on my tree still reside in Belfast  :)

trying to give you alternatives from hopeful direct relatives replying to you,
eg which you may have not already searched:-

have you seen the 300+ entries under McLaughlin in Belfast Forum search engine top right corner rectangle

have you checked local newspapers for  notices for your sister passing in 2020, where relatives might be named, noting your other mail on BF, have you exhausted the Irish News https://www.irishnews.com/subscriptionfamily-notices/   a weekly sub costs £.3.75

if you know uptodate names of relatives there are phone numbers and address at BT whitepages , you could write first

Perhaps others entries in other trees already exist eg just for McLaughlin
Genes Reunited has 245 entries for Belfast see https://www.genesreunited.co.uk/tree/results/mclaughlin?memberkey=0&yearofbirthrange=0&birthplace=belfast.
a frozen but searchabe site or Genforum{Rootweb or ancestry} https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/mclaughlin/
https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/McLaughlin 6 entries for Belfast
but you might find entries  under Quinn or mcLarnon

thatís me exhausted
lots of good luck onwards
