« on: October 03, 2020, 01:48:22 PM »

My great - great gradnfather Patrick Kane lived in Agra Street in 1911. The census states he has been married for 15 years, however i cannot find a Patrick Kane or Catherine Kane in 1901. My great grany Dora Josephine Kane lived in Raholp, 1911 with my great great great uncle William Hinds.

My great aunt Mona listed in the 1911 census lived with my great great great uncle in Raholp 1901. I think they may have moved out of Belfast some time after 1911 but I can't find any information on my great - great gradnfather. If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

Hi there,
Letís start by saying that not all dates and ages are always correct.... keep an open mind.

I believe this to be your Great Grandparents, Patrick & Catherine ( nee Vint ) both of Welshestown Saul.

I am unsure at this time as to the location of Prospect Cottages but the registration of both birth and death was Co Down

As usual.... never take things for granted.

Thomas, who appears in the 1911 Census was actually registered under the surname.... OíKane. 🤬

Unfortunately there is no listing in Irish Civil Records for William in 1920.  just the GRONI one that I posted earlier.

Hope this helps

Not sure where Patrick & Catherine were on the day of the 1901 Census.  I tried Kane & O Kane..🧐

My grany was from the Saul area. So this makes sense. I'll guess my great great grandfather moved to Belfast for work.

I believe they were Kane, it is confusing on the census. Thanks for the help. Ill keep digging

Can you make out the street for Mary Kathleen Kane? I can't make it out. Does it also say Kashmir Road for Thomas John? Thank you for finding this
