Old photographs archived?
« on: March 04, 2021, 01:35:35 PM »
Hello All, I'm aware there's a very old thread about Abernethy's photographic studios in Belfast, though the thread only discusses the Abernethy family, and I'm interested in what became of their photo/negatives archives. A photograph of my great grandmother, Isabella 'Belle' Kelly appeared in the Larne Times on Saturday 30 April 1910 (page 11 column 4), alongside the report of her murder. Whilst it was amazing to see this photo, since, to the best of my knowledge, none of her descendants owns or has previously seen a photo of her, the reproduction in the newspaper is not as clear as I'm sure the original photo would have been. The press photo is attributed to Abernethy of Belfast. It would be wonderful if an original still exists in their archive.

I have contacted the Larne Times numerous times, in case they held a copy, but they do not reply. Any advice would be more than welcome. Thank you.
