That is my Uncle Derek.  We are still in touch with our family back home.  My Mum is the only one of 11 children to have left Ireland.  How do you know Uncle Derek headbanger?
Belfast Bairn,
I have known Derek for about 30 years,we lived in the same estate in Newtownards, and attend the same church.
What part of the world are you living in, Belfast Bairn?

I've been in Canada most of my life.  So you lived by Scarbo Tower as well!  I always thought it was such a cool thing to see from your home.  I  have been up there a few times.
Would you pass a Hello to Uncle Derek and Auntie Angie for me the next time your paths cross?
Thanks.

 Headbanger,
You just tell Uncle Derek to keep his cash for his grandchild's pay.  I believe it was every Friday if memory serves.  Used to get 10p from all my working Uncles and my Auntie when I was home on vacation in "69.  I had no idea what to spend it on except Bubbly bubble gum at Mr. Parker's wee shop.  Even my trip home when I was 16 they still gave me my pay, of course the pay had increased by then.
Thanks for letting Uncle Derek know I was thinking about them all.

Hi

Just read your message and was wondering if any of you from East Bread St remembered the Polly's? They used to live near the top end, the top end not being the end closer to the Newtownards Road.  ;)

Hi Chicago,
Yes I do remember all the Polly's.  I went to school with them.  Are you related to the family?  I am one of the McShanes from further down the street.  Some of the family were called Sally(oldest), Walter, Joan, Richard and a few others whose names I can't remember just now.

No I am not in touch with them these days.  I moved away over 40 years ago.  The other names ring a bell now though.

Hi,

You were a great help even though you didn't know it. My sister and I couldn't remember the older ones names. I only remembered Joan as mum used to talk about when she and Joan went to England and my Granda had the police meet her getting of the ship on the other side as she was only 16, Joan might had been a few years older as Aunt Nellie and Uncle Walter let her stay in London.

Thanks so much for your help

Does anyone remember the Little guy ( I think he might have been a Hunchback, I

don't know ) who lived in East Bread Street in the 60's, who rode one of the first

Honda 305's in Belfast.

He used to join us on the runs to Bangor.

Betty

Sorry, but I can't remember his name.

The lad I'm thinking of, lived on the left hand side of the street, as you went

towards the Newtownards Road.  ( I think  :))

At that time, the Honda motorcycles were just coming into Belfast, and he had the biggest one.
