hello all, just found this form, loved reading all the post on here and the Glenbryn topic, remember quite a few names mentioned, use to live in 110 Alliance Parade until about 1978 then got my own house in 176 Alliance road,  then Glenbryn Parade a few years later. Moved to California in 2000 and still here.

Hi Roy

Anybody remember the Barrs st no. 17 the Parade?  Roy Ivy Iris Roberta and Myrtle. We all left between 1962 and 63. We were between the Duncans and the McKnights  Opposite us were the Gillilands the Browns and further down were the Telfords. I chummed with Elizabeth and Nella Telford and Georgie Bennet also Maybeth Young. Tommy Waterworth was the window cleaner and his daughter Vicky helped him. Myrtle Barr

The Browns lived above the Gillilands. I used to wheel David Brown in his pram when I was about 12. Think his mother's name was Violet but we weren't allowed to call the adults by their first names! Used to love us all meeting at the corner at night and just mucking about. When I started work at 15 I bought a wee transistor radio and paid it off weekly. We spend ages trying to get Luxembourg on it trying to get the latest pop songs from America. Good innocent fun!!
