I knew a guy called Mick McLaughlin from Ardoyne. He was a plumber and moved to Dublin in the early 70s. His wife was Alice. He had blond hair and would be early to mid 70s now. Anybody know of him now?

It was definitely Alice. They lived in Shankill, Co. Dublin and later moved to Arklow. I think they had two daughters. Mick was a handy footballer. I would love to contact him

Hi D & D
I remember John McClean well.  He hung out wih Patsy McGuire (Nr. 31).  I think there was also a John McLeod in that group.   The Denvirs I also remember as my Mother was a friend of Bridget Denvir (Mother of Anne.)  We used to visit their home up the Crumlin Rd.,  She also had two brothers Jim and Tom (?)..  Taffe O'Haire doesn't ring a bell.  The Browns I knew lived in the even nrs.  There was Florence and a brother whoese name I can't remember.
Other  people around my age were,  on the uneven side:  Ferguson, Campbell, Stewart, (Plunkett, McIntyre, Savage were older than I), Bradley, Maginn. Maguire, Byers, McCartney, McCormick, McLarnon Maginn, McNeill, Monteith, Dolan Quigley, Ball, Cusack.  That's as far as I remember on that side.  The uneven side:  Convey, Hennebry, Andrews, Rainey, Brannigan, Loughran, Ferris, Long, Lundy, McGarry, Hull, McAuley, Wright, Fullerton, Matthews, Magee, Ryan, Doherty.

That will give you something to think about.

you remember john McLean, could you email me

Does anyone remember Frank the Barbers or Paddy Cassidys? Frank was my Dad and Paddy my uncle. Frank McAreavey married my Mum Nora Cassidy and they had 6 of us. Cis McDrury, hairdresser, was a great aunt who had her shop on the Crumlin Rd. Id love to see some old pics or craic from those days. T
The house and shops were damaged in '75 during The Troubles and we have to move away.
