Belfast Genealogy / Brick Wall -John and Sarah Miller
« Last post by maria emerson smith on Today at 10:11:16 PM »

Hi Everyone,

I have just joined. I have been doing my family tree for over 10 years and early on hit a brick wall on my maternal side.

I cannot get beyond my great grandparents. They were - John and Sarah Miller.

John was born in 1872 and married Sarah on 22 September 1914 in Belfast. John died on 26 Feb 1944. and is buried with his wife at Dundonald cemetary. Their children were; Maria (my grandmother), Irene, Mary and John Jr. I think (?) Johns father was called Alexander but I am not sure. Sarah was previously known as Sarah Wightman - and I have her parents as John and Martha Wightman.

I just cannot find any further information about John Miller's lineage. If anyone could help me identify his parents - or anything which would get me back in this lineage - I would really appreciate your help!  Thank you for reading, Maria  :( :)

Sorry, but I have no intention of searching through six pages of posts in order to try and figure out who or what it is that you're referring to, and I doubt if anyone else has either.

If you want to say something, then say it. I have never referred to anyone as  "Mr. This is what you call power",... and I haven't heard of anyone other than yourself using the expression, and I have no idea about whom or what you are referring to, or why you are.

You have no intention. Its only 6 page's, hardly a dickens novel. I have said numerous times that I did not agree that the leader of PHNI was right in the way he confronted kevin magee and should not be leading any group and that he had to go. If you don't want to acknowledge that thats fine, but stop saying I support his or his groups actions. As I have said there are numerous groups who hunt paedophiles , about 10 in total. And I do support them 100 percent, However when they act like george keenan did with kevin magee I will stop supporting them.

Also george keenan is in the video link you have posted and he said to Kevin Magee "This is what you call power". So unless you did not watch the videos even though you posted them a couple of times you would not know this. So maybe watch the video you are posting in future.

Richard - When I said I didn't go back, I meant to live, I have gone back few times, but since I no longer have siblings there the pull is not the same. As for work, my last job in Belfast was a Bus Conductor on the BCT.  When I came to Canada, I started working at a Biscuit factory, on the oven and lost about 10 lbs. in a couple of months. Then I saw an ad in the paper for someone with experience in transportation, - I thought - 'Hey, I was bus conductor, so I have experience'  However that ad was for a Trucking company, luckily the manager was English, and probably had a chuckle, but saw my 4 years at grammar school in  my resume and granted me an interview, and I got a job(office) which I stayed with for the next 43 years. Not all with the same company as there is a lot of take overs and bankruptcy's   . One of the take overs was an Australian company - TNT. Never got much higher than office manager, but I enjoyed it and made a lot of friends

Dear Sir/Madam,
This was my grandmothers house where I had a great time playing as a child in the garden and up the tower. My bedroom was upstairs left hand window which was above the library. This is a great memory for me and my mother was brought up in this house. my great grandmother also was alive when I was about 6 yrs old. My grandmother was a relation to Percy French the famous song writer in Ireland. The family also used to own a furniture company in Belfast. I can tell you exactly what the inside of the house was like as I can remember it as if it was yesterday.

I love Carlingford Creaky, hard to beat it, stayed alongside the loch a few times in recent years.
Yes Astor. The whole area is hard to whack. Rostrevor and Warrenpoint  with Kilbroney Forest Park on one side and then Carlingford and Greenore on the other. The Mournes and The Cooley Mountains. Just beautiful. You can have your foreign holidays, but I know where I'll be. :) :)

I live in North Down and have a holiday home in South Down at Carlingford Lough. Both are great. We've now got the ferry running from Greencastle to Carlingford which is superb. When I'm staying there, a 20 minute ferry ride and I'm half way to Dublin. If I didn't have commitments where I live permanently, I'd definitely head for South Down. You couldn't beat it with a big stick.
