If part is in Antrim and a part in Down, doesn`t that make Belfast a Metropolis?

Why does the BT Post code make everyone in County Antrim.  I live at  Four Winds  which is in the townland of Ballymaconaghy Co Down... Carryduff is in Co. Down  but all have a BT8 *** Co. Antrim  post code

You might find that The Temple is in Co Antrim.

Dundonald and Gilnahirk are both in Co Antrim:

Old Moat Inn, 933 Upper Newtownards Rd, Dundonald, Belfast, County Antrim, BT16 1RQ

Winemark‎ 123 Gilnahirk Rd, Belfast, County Antrim, BT5 7QL‎

BTW, I live near Forestside, and I'm in Co Antrim  ... they say ...  ;)  :)

I don't know about now, but when I was young Belfast had County Status, and was governed by Belfast Borough County Council, so it was technically a county in its own right and Antrim and Down were of no real relevance to it's citizenry - unless you were reading a map.

The border is the Lagan. North side = Antrim; South side = Down. I was born  when my family lived in in Saintfield = Down but the hospital was the Royal so actually in Antrim and that is what my Irish passport says

"The border is the Lagan. North side = Antrim; South side = Down."

So Gilnahirk and Dundonald are on the north side of the Lagan, are they?   When were they moved?

Newtownbreda is in Co Antrim, yet it is situated on the south side of the Lagan.

Newtownbreda and district are firmly in County Down, the county border being the Lagan. It’s common for many companies and mailing systems to describe “Belfast” all as being in County Antrim, and, since Newtownbreda has been swallowed up along with Carryduff and even Saintfield now, we all get called Antrim.
But we know best. :)
