I would be interested in hearing from anyone who lived on the above street during the 1930's -1940's as I am trying to trace family -friends.

hi if youre talking about highfield drive in the highfield estate ballygomartin i dont think those houses were built until the 1950s or there about

Thanks for your reply :) All I know is that Highfield Drive was very close to Springfield road.

Highfield Drive was off the West Circular road if i rememmber rightly and the W/Circular ran down towards the Springfield Rd...I had  relatives who lives in H/Field Dr and also on the W/Circular ...but they moved when the troubles started.

Hi I lived in 55 Highfield Drivefrom the early 60,s and my Grandparents lived in Highpark Drive before that

Plans for the Highfield Estate were drawn up and approved in 1945. The first houses were completed in 1948. Prior to that it was a green field site partly owned by Duffield and the Mackie family.
According to the 1948 Belfast street directory in Highfield Drive, numbers 1 to 59 were under construction with numbers 52 to 71 completed but vacant.
Four building companies were involved in the construction of the Estate, Copelands, Fortus, Mooneys and Orlit.  :)
I have photos of most of the streets in Highfield but sadly none of Highfield Drive.  :(
