Benny's Bar, Sailortown
« on: January 17, 2012, 04:07:16 PM »
I know Benny's Bar was on the corner of Ship Street and Garmoyle. Which corner was it on, north or south? And what is at the site now? Surely not all of Ship Street was demolished! :(

Sailortown was completely wiped out except for a few houses on Garmoyle Street. and a couple pubs which have mostly now closed down.

Kate.o the bomb that killed these kids was around 100lbs.  It was reported that a man had given the kids money after asking them where Benny's bar was.

I remember Dindo lived at the end of Edward Street facing the swings.

Unbelievable that someone would plant a bomb, then walk away as children played yards away.
