Yes Gilligan - You could also get a tuppenny drink in a larger jar,
stood on a well worn upside down wooden box to reach the counter, also a cat often sat on the counter!

I may be wrong but the 'glass' seemed to be a Colman's mustard jar. ;)

I remember hearing of Rosie Austin's shop but I don't think I was ever in it. Do you remember Mame's shop on New Lodge and Mary Ann Steel's? Mary McKnight's shop  too on the other side of New Lodge.  I got my lemonade in a glass in Torbitt's on the Corner of Hartwell St and New Lodge.  :)

I was talking to Geordie Austin(brother of Joe, Brian etc) last week home from USA, he was telling me that Rosie Austin was his aunt. I never knew that.
What a marvellous night for a Moondance

Geordie is great, home for 6 weeks touring about etc, away back to states,  sadly his ex wife passed away a few years ago.

Hello John, between working shifts and mainly being on Facebook now I very rarely get onto the forum. Hope everything is well with you and yours.
