The Salvation Rocks Band is a band with a little twist. They take classic rock tunes and have re-written them with Christian lyrics (think of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" as "(Jesus) Spoke to the Water", or Thin Lizzy's "The Boys are Back in Town" as "The Lord Is Back in Town"!). That's just the beginning as they have many more re-writes from other well known artists such as The Eagles, Status Quo, Free, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits, The Who, The Beatles, and so on!

They are playing a concert at 7.30pm on Saturday 31st August in Belfast (tickets are priced at 10 plus booking fee), at the home of Crown Jesus Ministries. It's in aid of a Church and charity in Cali, Colombia called "The El Abrigo Foundation", that has a number of aims; producing Christian literature in Spanish, a music ministry, and a drop in centre for the street kids. The particular event is aimed at raising funds to help El Abrigo build a new Church building, as their current building does not provide enough capacity.
