Does anyone know the name of the guy who ran the record department in Robbs

I am trying to find the guy who ran the record department in Robbs in the sixties for a book I am writing.  He had a big influence on my musical tastes - black American singers and old style blues.  I loved Them, Rory Gallagher and the Stones thanks to him.  Would like to give him a mention.  Gwen McIlroy nee Carson
